How it works

Give every service a memorable name, api.localhost instead of localhost:3000, without touching a hosts file. Bifurc's reverse proxy serves the names and sends each one to its target. Mappings are saved in the workspace, so they travel with the rest of your setup and work the same way on every machine that imports it.

When to use it

• Stop remembering which port each app runs on and reach every one by name.
• Test cookies, CORS and redirects across subdomains such as app.localhost and api.localhost.
• Share one setup with your team so everyone uses the same local URLs.
