Features
Six jobs you do every day. Watch them work.
18 features, grouped by what you are trying to get done. Each chapter plays out the way it works in the app.
01 — Route
Every service gets a real name
Bifurc finds what is listening on your machine and gives each port a .localhost name, over HTTPS if you want it. It starts your dev servers and tells you when one falls over.
- Service DiscoverySee the local processes listening on a port, with their PIDs, and map any of them to a name directly.
- Localhost Domain MappingMap *.localhost names to local services. They resolve to your machine already, so there is no hosts file to edit.
- TLS InterceptionGenerate or import a root certificate so HTTPS traffic through the forward proxy can be captured, mocked and rewritten.
- Dev Servers & LogsStart, stop and restart your dev servers from the Services screen, and follow their logs live.
- Health MonitoringTrack whether your services answer, from the app's health bar or from a script.

02 — Watch
See every call, and reroute any of them
Point a browser or a tool at the forward proxy and every exchange lands in Capture. Rules can serve a live URL from somewhere else, like your local build, and scripts rewrite requests and responses on the way through.
- Traffic CaptureInspect proxied traffic with full request and response detail, and save any exchange as a request or a mock.
- Browser Extension WorkflowsToggle browser proxying, review traffic in a DevTools tab, and send real requests or mocks into Bifurc.
- Proxy Rules & ScriptsServe any URL from somewhere else, like your local build, without changing it, and rewrite requests or responses in flight with scripts.
03 — Mock & break
Answer, break or replay any request
Mocks sit in the proxy, so your app keeps calling the real URL. Swap in a fake answer, inject a 503, or replay a cassette of real responses when the service is not there.
04 — Send & chain
Every protocol, chained into flows
Write REST, GraphQL, gRPC, SOAP, WebSocket, SSE, Socket.IO, MCP and webhook requests side by side, then chain them on a canvas. A flow can even wait for the mail your app sends.
- REST, GraphQL, gRPC, SOAP, WebSocket, SSE, Socket.IO and MCPWrite, save and organize requests across the protocols real local integration work uses, and run a folder of them at once.
- FlowsChain saved requests on a canvas, pass values between them, branch on the answer, and run the whole flow at once.
- Webhook TestingSend signed webhooks from Stripe, GitHub and other samples, or capture a real one and send it again.
- Local Mail InboxA local SMTP server catches the mail your app sends, with sign-in codes and links picked out to copy.
- POST /signup201 · 92ms

- GET /verify?code={{otp}}200 · 40ms

05 — Automate
The same workspace from a terminal
The bifurc command drives everything the app does, with one-line results and exit codes CI understands. AI agents get an MCP server and guardrails you write.
❯ bifurc wait http://api.localhost/health
06 — Keep
Plain files, real history
Environments switch every variable at once, secrets stay in an encrypted vault, an audit log records changes to the workspace, and everything you save is a file in a git workspace you can diff, restore and push to your own repo.
