TLS Interception

Generate or import a root certificate so HTTPS traffic through the forward proxy can be captured, mocked and rewritten.

How it works

Bifurc generates a root certificate on your machine, or uses one you import, and can add it to your trusted roots. With HTTPS interception on, traffic through the forward proxy is decrypted locally so rules, mocks and capture apply to it just as they do to plain HTTP. The HTTPS toggle also makes the proxies speak TLS on their own ports: your .localhost names are served over HTTPS, with plain HTTP redirected. The certificate and its key never leave your computer.

When to use it

  • Inspect HTTPS calls your app makes to third-party APIs.
  • Mock or rewrite responses from an HTTPS endpoint.
  • Serve your .localhost names over HTTPS to test secure cookies and HTTPS-only browser features.
